Galveston Island State Park, Galveston, TX

May 12th, 2014  Arrived here yesterday, on Mother's day. Weather is gloomy but warm. This area is getting some much needed rain; which leaves the humidity high, temperatures warm and skies gloomy. Driving here was an adventure! We weren't sure exactly how we were going to arrive here. We programed Bosco's TomTom and "She" had one idea and Google maps, printed directions, another. Luckily when the "She" gave up with her , 'turn around", reprogramming" She found us again; and started again with directions. We are on a thin island, at the Galveston Island State Park, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Galveston Bay on the other. It's a bird watchers paradise! We've been so happy with discovering the Texas State Parks. We bought a $70 State Parks pass the first time we stayed in a Texas park and it has been a good purchase.
