San Antonio, TX

May 7th, 2014 We spent the day driving to and from San Antonio, sighting at the Alamo, walking the river walk and bus touring around the city. What a full day, and how the feet survived I'll never know. We had lunch at an English Pub, on the River Walk, called Mad Dogs. We sat outside and watched the river boats go by, and the walkers hike on by and generally and specifically had a great time.

They don't allow pictures inside the shrine at the Alamo; so console yourself with these outside views. Boone, Crockett and  Bowie and the heroic story of the battle at the Alamo came to life inside the walls of the place.

We asked a nice passerby if he would take our picture and he took three before he was satisfied with his handiwork! We marched about till our feet were sore looking for the perfect ice cream store.

After the River Walk we decided to take a bus tour. It's a hop on/hop off type and if you see something you want to explore further you get off and then back on when you're done. We visited the Villita this way a collection of shops and artists and the Hemisphere built for the 1968 World's Fair. Did I mention the carriage rides around the Alamo? Horses looked so good!
