Louisville, Kentucky

See for yourself!
August 6, 2014 As we were driving along, almost to our goal, the truck bucked. What was that? Running fine now, so onward we travel with discussion about what it could be. Then Exit marker 17, I-64, Louisville rush hour traffic, the truck quit. Bosco was able to bring it to a stop in the V between the exit ramp, and the 3 lane highway. Small space for a 32 foot 5th wheel and a long bed Dodge Ram. You see we're pro's at this by now, so Bosco calls 911 and I dig out our Good Sam card because with this new trailer we have a free year of roadside assistance, and Travel Assist. Eventually an officer arrives but he's not too impressed with our fate. Bosco says he has been concerned about the fuel gauge and maybe he's run out of fuel although the gauge reads 1/2. The officer agrees to check at a gas station nearby and if they have 5 gal. gas cans bring back 5 gallons of diesel. We never see him again. I have better luck with Good Sam, when I get the right person they agree to send a tow truck and after a few calls text me that the tow truck will be here in an hour and forty minutes. It's warm, the traffic heavy and with every passing truck we rock and roll, the dog pants and we wait. All of a sudden a cheerful voice says: "Hello there!" Two people, a woman and a man, with uniforms and neon vests show up. Traffic Control  has arrived. The gentleman has 4 gallons of diesel and is about to pour it in when the tow arrives. After a conference the decision is to go ahead and try the diesel. Doesn't work. Bosco was skeptical anyway as with a diesel the lines have to be cracked, something we are not prepared to do in traffic. So Keith, the tow truck driver, proceeds to hook us up and take the trailer to the KOA we had reservations for and the truck to a Dodge dealer. NOW WE WAIT!
