Balmorhea/// State Park, TX

April 28, 2014 Here we are in western Texas, wind blowing like crazy! Ole trailer doing the rock and roll. Cool at night warm in the daytime but, with the wind, even in the sun it's comfortable. We're staying here in Balmorhea State Park which has a natural spring fed pool that is home to several fish found nowhere else: the Headwater Catfish, the Comanche Spring Pupfish and the Pecos Gambusia.
We arrived yesterday wore out from fighting the wind all day long. It continues to blow today but not as violently as yesterday.
Cleaning up after diving
Today we got up and tried to plan our route for the next few days; made reservations at some Texas State Parks but panned out trying to find a spot in Dallas. Then Bosco was free to go dive the pool. He lost his camera and for a short time we couldn't find it but people at the pool helped and the lost was found! Nice people here. Bosco took a few pictures of the fish while diving.
Below are pictures of the Catfish, which are really a deep dark blue. And the Gambusia just his head in the rocks.
Hint if you want to see the pictures bigger just click on one and they fill the screen and you can scroll through them.
